Inns at the Equinox

Very underwhelming for the price and appearance of a "luxury" resort. Photos on the website definitely do not accurately portray reality. Room was not ready at check in time (though I do appreciate the one friendly front desk staff member and offer for $50 bar credit). Room very outdated, musty, moldy bathroom. A friend's room in the main building had a slanted floor causing you to feel like you're intoxicated or going to fall into a sink hole. Tried to tack on $50 + tax + gratuity for a "breakfast package" that I confirmed was not part of the rate I selected on Hotels.com. That's in addition to the daily "resort fee" which yields no value since almost all amenities are closed right now due to COVID.

A beautiful property that is massively understaffed for what is supposed to be a luxury resort. Meals were very slow (except breakfast), the front desk couldnt (wouldnt?) answer the phone and didn't resolve our issue until I personally had to visit the desk twice. No bell service at all, no waiter service out on there beautiful deck which was full of people enjoying the scenery. I will say the staff was very aware of how understaffed they were and they did apologize for the obviously sub par service levels that they could deliver.

The initial room that we were assigned in the cottages was not at all what was advertised in the “deal” ! It was dark, dingy, small, and not clean. There was a large dog barking in the next room. We went to the main desk to express our concerns. After much discussion, about an upgrade and a cost equivalent, we were given a room in the main building which was very nice. The staff and the computers seemed to need some help in arranging this switch though. We had planned to eat dinner at the hotel, but after looking at the reduced menu decided to go elsewhere. Overall not one of our more enjoyable stays at the Equinox.

Poor value for the price. An overall “tired” facility.

Disappointing.

They seemed severely short staffed. We tried to call the Marsh Tavern from the “Marsh tavern” button on our room to make reservations. The voicemail stated that because of Covid the concierge desk was shut down. We then tried to call the front desk but hung up after 5 minutes without an answer. When we got to the Tavern the host seated us where we waited for 20 min without anyone visiting our table. We ended up pouring ourself a coffee from the hotels complimentary coffee station. After we ordered it was another 40min before breakfast arrived. We were seated towards the entrance and saw two families leave because they had waited a long time and the host never came to seat them. We still had to pay the $39 resort fee which I feel should have been waived since the sauna and steam room, were closed. If you wanted to use the pool you had to reserve an hour time slot. The concierges desk was not staffed. We stayed at the Equinox pre-Covid and had a wonderful experience. I definitely wouldn’t go back until they are up and running like they were before.

The room was not what I expected, very small for the high price. My wife cleaned the toilet seat with a wipe and it was dirty. Cob webs between the window and the hallway floor filled with pine needles and dead ant that appeared to be have been there for days. The room also had a strong moldy smell that was difficult to take and may not have been vented in a while. No other rooms were available and we didn't stay.

The Inn part of Equinox (condo) are old outdated, very dirty and poison ivy growing on patio.

Heaven and hell. Good news is that grounds are awesome. Great swimming pool, tennis court, access to trail to Equinox pond and free yoga. I'd give the grounds at 9. The room (a suite) was not clean (railing completely dirty when we wiped it down) which is dangerous. Do NOT get a suite. I'd give the room a 3 rating. The staff at the front desk and restaurant are incredibly rude and really bring it down. Only 2-3 people being rude with 7 being fine, but that ruined it for us.

on 7/4 weekend... this hotel was terrible! no front desk service, no clean up etc.... the furniture was dated, old, worn and torn! NOT worth the $$$!... Taconic Inn and Hampton Inn nearby seemed cleaner!
