Scottish Inns Okeechobee

The Scottish Inn is set on a busy four-lane highway in a less than pittoresque part of Okeechobee (not sure there any pittoresque parts of Okeechobee but I digress) so the noise level from the road and from the adjoining rooms (thin walls) was a downside. But aside from that, the place was great. The woman who greeted us was friendly and provided us with recommendations for restaurants. The Inn was newly renovated and very clean and the rooms were a good size. The water pressure in the shower was good and the bed was very comfortable. For $70+Rx, this was a very good deal and would highly recommend for an overnight.

Nicely kept simple strip motel. Nice management. More chairs than most high priced hotels. In an effort to make over an old bathroom the distance between the water closet and dip the shower is very tight. The shower, however, is more to current codes which means wider and longer spacing than I assume the old bathtub took. For me the beds were too high and I’m not considered short!. All and all for an overnight or two this fits the bill for a simple yet comfortable room.

Sitting chairs out back would be nice. Maybe Adirondack chairs or something to soak in the sunshine.

I did not have high expectations when I booked a room for under $100. The young man that checked us in was very helpful and pleasant. When we got to the room, it smelled musty, so we turned the A/C down & that seemed to help. My fiance began coughing in the night so badly that he removed the A/C filter to find that it was BLACK! Once he washed it out in the shower (the shower head was 7ft up the wall) he slept fine. The bathroom was EXTREMELY tiny & the only outlet was...7ft up the wall & backwards. The mirror was high as well. I would not stay here again, unless it was last minute & the only MOTEL with availability.

The A/C is an old and very loud window unit. There was hair on the package of hand soap in the bathroom. There was a roach crawling on the floor in the morning. The door had a dirty look where people put their hands to open and close it. It needed either to be washed or repainted. The table was uneven. I would not stay here again.

The hotel was clean, very comfortable. It is the best hotel I have been in that price range.

This was a last minute over night stay and this place did the job. It is far from fancy but for the price it was good.
