Hotel Metropole

We stayed 3 nights here. Real convenient spot that is slightly away from the main area of Avalon. You’re still close but just not in the middle of it. We had a garden view room and the first night was a little loud. I was so dead tired that the noise didn’t bother me. I was worried about the next few nights, but the people hanging out in the courtyard seemed to be gone. So pretty quiet on the 2nd and 3rd night. Due to Covid some things where not open, but that’s to be expected. Check in was easy and staff was great. Rooms felt clean but drains are a little slow. Backed up a little. Drains backed up not from clogs, but from too much pressure! If the hotel is reading please reduce the water coming out of the shower head. It’s way too much coming out and over powers the drain. The room has a nice fireplace that we used a few nights. Bring a travel extension cord because there is no outlet near the bed. Beds are comfy and room was clean.

Hotel Metropole was a great choice for their convenient location, comfort (beds we delightful, large bathroom and shower, spacious rooms), everything was super clean, staff was very helpful in letting us check in a little early so we could go explore. When we come back, we will definitely look to stay here again!

The staff was nice and accommodating. However, our room (#312) was very run down and dirty. The bathroom sink counter top had large black mold around the faucet. The remote control was dusty and sticky looking. I wiped down the room as soon as we checked in (as a precautionary measure to Covid-19), and I found many nooks and crannies quite dirty. We didn't make a big deal out of it since we didn't spend much time in the room. Although the front desk and the cleaning staff were very nice and pleasant, I don't think I will ever return to this hotel based on the condition of the room we stayed in.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location! Comfy beds, great water pressure, beautiful view out of the patio. We had a wonderful stay. My only complaint is I woke up in the morning and there was a HUGE spider on the table by the tv! I screamed (sorry neighbors, haha)! But the walls are thick and we couldn’t hear our neighbors so maybe I didn’t wake anyone up. This will be our go-to place going forward!

Loved the location with the metropole center right under us, including a coffee shop, entertainment center and shopping. Our room was NOT cleaned when we entered and had to wait about 30 min for them to clean it, we did get a credit which made it better but we were ready for our room. The internet was horrible, but then again there isn’t much for service on the island anyway. Would have loved to have a room service option and a coffee pot. But overall we would definitely stay there again. The staff was great!

There was no place to leave our luggage,Then they said they would call us when our room was ready they never called.

We checked in initially at around 11am. I understand that the room wouldn’t be ready until later- and was told it would be ready by 3 pm (check in time). We got a call saying our room was ready after 4pm! That seemed unreasonable. Considering we were lugging around our belongings because they ‘couldn’t store them due to covid’. It should have been ready by 3!

We did not have a great experience at this hotel. For almost $400 a night.. our room was very small, did not even have a coffee maker and microwave. I also called in advance because my wife was celebrating her bday and they said they were going to provide champagne in the room but they didn’t have it. We stayed at room 209 and it was loud in the evening up to past 10 pm because of the outdoor restaurant. The AC was very loud each time it would go on and on top of all that we can hear every step of the other guest above us. We did not have a good sleep.. glad we only booked for a night.

It was a beautiful hotel with a nice view. Really loved the ambience of this hotel.

The property itself is very pretty and felt clean specially during the COVID 19 pandemic, so much so that one of our rooms still smelled like bleach upon check-in (which didn’t bother us). Unfortunately the issues were with our check-in process. I originally reserved 2 rooms, each with 2 queen beds for 7 people. Upon check-in we came to find that the hotel placed us in 1 room with 2 Queen beds and the other room with a King bed and sofa couch. When asked why we were given 1 King bed instead of 2 Queens when I reserved 2 weeks ago, the hotel staff replied by saying since our reservations were booked through Expedia for 7 people, we were given what was available for the amount of people in our group. I could have been more understanding about this situation if they had called ahead of time to notify us of the change or adjusted the room rate based on the fact that we weren’t being given the 2 rooms with 2 queen beds as originally reserved. But instead, they had us waiting in the lobby for over an hour after the designated check-in time and attempted to compensate with a $4 bottle of champagne that we didn’t even touch. Not sure if I will book through Expedia after this incident if what the hotel’s reasoning for our room change was true.
