Great location on 7 mile beach. Always felt safe. All-inclusive food choices get old really fast. By day 4 we were really wanting something other than pork or chicken that was fixed just a little differently each day. Staff was awesome! Got moved to Merril's II because of the Corona Virus shut down and that is an all around much nicer facility.
Quality is declining. I’ve stayed here before and food was much better during previous stays. Beds very uncomfortable. However, overall value was great for the cost.
The food was decent. The staff at number 3 were very welcoming, however it felt very unpleasant and unwelcoming at number 2. No resort entertainment you have to pay for a fridge daily and no visitors allowed in your rooms. Overall great location just a bit boring. Drinks were good.
Beautiful property ..nice people.. no WiFi in rooms is orde thing .. good fresh food !.. one more thing you should no have to pay extra for safe that’s in room ..
This is a real Jamaican experience, great staff, helpful and warm. We arrived on our first day after 11pm and the staff put out food for our group of 9. Just the drinks and location make it worthwhile staying here but having such incredible employees gave it the real Jamaican feel.
Wifi is only in the dining area and front office....no working phone or wifi in the rooms....which really wasn't a bad thing.
I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Merrils 3. This is my third stay at this property in the past 11 months, and this last stay was horrible. The good about this hotel is the proximity to the beach and the waiters Denver and Charlie. The beautiful beach is right at your doorstep. The two waiters provided impeccable service. Although its a buffet style restaurant, these two wait staff ensured you had all your drinks and everything else needed for your meal in moments of arriving. They were also engaging with guests and made you feel at ease. The bad things were the quality of food, no clean beach towels available for guests, and huge line ups for food. The food was often cold and the quality was subpar. The mest was often fatty and the grilled veggies were always swimming in oil. 2 out of my 4 lunches i waited for jerk chicken, in a line up between 14-16 minutes. Too be honest i felt like i was at a soup kitchen for homeless people and not a hotel i was paying to stay at. Trying to get a clean beach towel in the morning, was also a rarity. My first day was no problem. My second and third day no clean towels On the third day of using the sandy wet towel, i enquired at 10:15 am for a clean towel,.and was told.they were out of clean towels and come back later. I asked a time and she said she 3 hours. I left the property and purchased a beach towel somewhere and used the beach at another property.
Needs updating and better selections for all inclusive ittms
The property is a bit dated but for the price you can't beat it. You're right on the beach, food included daily. My husband is in a manual wheelchair and our room was accessible even the bathroom. Remember you're in a third world country, this resort is trying to do a good job. Very relaxing place.
