Candlewood Suites Enid

I booked my Candlewood 1-night stay on Hotels.com to be paid at the hotel. Upon check-in I saw some counter staff had masks on improperly. Later I got a bank alert that I was charged $50 more than the original booking. I asked the day manager about it - she told me I needed to talk to Hotels.com. I called that afternoon and was told Hotels.com didn’t know about it. She called the hotel and came back saying it was a $50 security deposit. I was never informed about a security deposit nor was it on Hotels.com or Candlewood’s website. Papers I signed at the hotel had nothing about a $50 deposit. The next day I went to the hotel desk, I had to ask the attendant to put on a mask. I asked about the fee - she told me it was policy. I told her it was not an authorized charge to my credit card. I ask her if I had signed an agreement to that fee, and she said no, it was their policy. She said it would be refunded in 24-48 hours. I said I it should be done immediately since it wasn’t authorized. She called her manager. A different manager came out. She was not wearing a mask and when I ask her to please put a mask on, she said she had a medical condition(how about a shield?). I stepped back and said I can’t talk with you then. She told me I was harassing her staff and that I needed to leave. I tried to tell her my concern but she talked over me saying 1-5 days for refund and YELLED “get out”. I was there to attend my brother-in-law’s funeral - Covid death, so masks were important to me!

Candlewood Suites in Enid, OK is a very nice hotel. It's fairly new and everything looked new and was very clean. The room had a full size refrigerator, a two burner cook top, a microwave, a sink, and a dishwasher. There were plenty of cook ware. The only drawback to the whole stay was the internet connection. The connection would drop every 5 minutes or so. I never tried to stream anything because the connection wouldn't last 5 minutes.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay in Enid very much.

Overall, most aspects were decent. However, the windows (and/or walls) were super thin. We heard the highway traffic all night long. The AC units were squeaky, as if they could use a good lubrication. Also, we had no way cloths. Even with these situations, the accommodations were pretty nice for the price and location.

Overall, this was a great hotel. It was conviently located, quiet, and had great customer service. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but not too bad. The room was very spacious.
