Best Western University Inn

I booked my stay here, because the website stated that masks were required to be used in the facilities. However, that policy was not enforced. When I checked in, there was a glass divider; however, a large portion of that was open due to a metal divider that could be moved--defeating the purpose of the glass. When the woman approached the glass to check me in, I asked that she put on a mask, to which she replied, "Well, that is what the glass is for," to which I had to show her the large opening in the glass window. I found her response rude and unprofessional. The next morning, when I went to check out the breakfast selection, a man without a mask walked into the lobby and spoke to the front desk person before heading to the kitchen area. After seeing that, I no longer felt comfortable in the hotel. I asked the person at the front desk, who was wearing a mask, if it was required that folks wear masks. He said it wasn't. I told him that I specifically booked my stay there, because the website stated it was required. I asked for his name, and he refused to provide it. He said, "I'm just an employee here, and I'm not required to give you my name." The room itself was fine; however, these gross violations of Best Western's own policies to protect the health and safety of its guests, on top of the poor customer service, are deserving of immediate attention. 

We had a fabulous stay for our daughter’s graduation! The facility was VERY CLEAN and it seemed the wonderful staff were always keeping it that way! Hand sanitizer stations were well placed and signs about social distancing were apparent also! Breakfast was wonderful and Gwen in particular Went above and beyond to help us in the morning. We also enjoyed the restaurant, Baumhowers, adjacent to the hotel. Walked right over and enjoyed a delicious meal. They also offer online reservations and then you just check in when you arrive! My one, very small comment for improvement is that the cookies in the evening were just sitting out in bowls, unprotected from germs. It would be great if they could be put in a ziploc bag to keep them fresh and clean ! Lucky us, our daughter will be staying to get her Master‘s Degree so we get to come back!!!

The hotel flooded because the Dam broke during a flash flood warning. We had to evacuate the hotel and did not get a refund. We had to go across the street and rent a hotel with our own money. Our luggage was wet and all our clothes was ruined. My I pad got ruined my wife cell phone. I have yet to get a call from the hotel and every time i call its disconnected. Please call me so i can see what the hotel is going to do for us. 661-636-7587. The rental car company is trying to sue me for the water damage to the car. I live in Bakersfield California. Nicely done room especially for a drive up to your door hotel.

All was good with alltheamenties it was close to the freeway easiy access. The eateries were excellent and very convenient.

On this very cold night the office was locked. The front desk clerk waved his hand as if to say one moment which turned into several minutes waiting in 30 degree temperature. He had no personality and did not give fast service. He was not familiar with where the room was. Told us to go to the second floor for our first floor room. Infuriating to say the least.

Great stay for a good price! We gave our business to this hotel after getting terrible customer service at La Quinta across the street who's staff was rude after confusing my bulldog for a pitbull...staff there was rude and nasty and not welcoming to my dogs. This best western's staff was very pleasant and very welcoming to my fur baby...Luciana checked us in and was very pleasant, and Jeff was also nice and helpful by providing us blankets dropped off at our room. Room was clean and the breakfast was better than I expected! (La Quinta's breads/pastries are always stale). We also appreciated being accommodated on the first floor since I was traveling with a disabled veteran. Thanks for a great stay Best Western!
