nicely decorated but tpo noisy

too noisy in this hotel the door are super thin our room overlooked a crappy roof - there is a family area below that is noisy and there were screaming kids had booked for 2 nights and left after one. the pool is not really a pool more like a plunge pool you can not swim in it

Friendly staff. Really nice room and ensuite. Good value for money Room 3 - a double - gets some noise from the main road, it's mentioned in a couple of other reviews - bring ear plugs is your sleep is affected by noise

Would stay again

The parking is around the corner aways, making hauling bags on uneven and skinny sidewalks less than ideal, but it’s all part of the charm of Vallodolid. It’s a wonderful town (crowded with tourists) and the hotel is an easy 4-block walk from the main center. Sonia at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in giving directions to where we wanted to go. The courtyard is lovely. The rooms are adequate and a bit stingy on amenities, but there is a shared kitchen and frig/microwave.

our room was too noisy

The location is good, very close tot he city center. The problems we had was that the room (#3) was very small and extremely noisy with street traffic. If you get another room noise may not be a problem. Wifi was poor in our room.

Noisy room #3

Every things was ok, great bathroom, nice wood furnishings, friendly service, and a nice room that faces the street, but that was exactly the problem of not having a nice sleep and rest. The room #3 that faces the street is extremely noisy and at 5 am that the cars starts to circulate the streets, wakes you up even if you close all windows. We complained about that in the reception and they told us that they have had a lot of complains about that room because of the noise but the owner don't want to take any action like installing door and windows anti noise. Sad way of thinking of the owner

Nice hotel close to downtown Valladolid

We liked the hotel, it is in a convenient area (close to downtown and bus terminal), the staff is very friendly, and the hotel is clean and well kept. The only thing we were not happy about were the thin walls - you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, and if somebody is using the hotel kitchen/common area, you hear everything in the rooms. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay there.

Hidden gem

Casa Hipil was a hidden gem and everything I was hoping to find. I was traveling solo in the Yucatan for 10 days and stayed in a variety of similar smaller hotels, and this was by far the best. Centrally located, but a few blocks away from the central plaza so it felt quieter. Beautiful, lush green courtyard with pool, great for relaxing and unwinding at the end of the day. All of the details of the hotel were quaint and pretty! I loved it!

Great facilities and location at a reasonable price! Stayed at Casa Hipil with my 9 year old daughter and enjoyed it. The staff was tremendous!! Appears the bathrooms have been updated. A/C and TV. Great public areas with computers, well equipped kitchen, and garden with small pool. We were able to park in front of hotel. Don’t expect anything too fancy, but it is very clean and comfortable. Short walk to the park, which is surrounded by restaurants and shops. Go to the light show and the cenote. Both very walkable, though we took a taxi back from light show for less than $2USD. Valladolid is centrally locates in the Yucatan, si it is perfect for day trips to Chichen Itza, Rio Lagartos, and other spots. Casa Hipil was a great location with an amazingly helpful staff, all of whom spoke at least sufficient Englush.

Casa Hipil staff were hospitable and helpful; recommended good places to eat and gave clear directions. Super easy check in, safe and walkable area, dedicated parking lot. Our room opened up onto pool/patio area, which was great for the kids! Clean and quiet space made for an excellent first night in Mexico. Would definitely stay here again!
