Curtiss Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

The hotel was beautiful and the room was extremely clean. The staff members were all friendly. The only thing, and I mean the only thing, that was substandard was the pizza on the rooftop lounge. It did not taste good. As I said, everything else about our stay was wonderful.

The room was nice and modern but the parking was not well marked if you were going to park your own car. When I got there the entrance was blocked with a cherry pickers and the traffic flow was confusing.

We took a little staycation at the Curtiss. Let me start by saying I loved my waitress at breakfast the morning of October 13th, I didn't catch her name but she was fantastic. Unfortunately, the employee who checked us in was not very welcoming. I understand this is a 5 star hotel, but that does not mean you can be pretentious when I'm spending hundreds to stay at your establishment. I expect to be welcomed with a smile at the very least. I believe they gave us a handicap accessible room, which is fine but the shower curtain was disgusting. In the photos of the hotel, it showed glass doors and I was expecting that to be honest. The shower itself was amazing. The shower was the best part of the stay minus the shower curtain. The door handle to leave my room was broken and would slide right off when you went to exit the room. Which is confusing to me how that went unnoticed by housekeeping. My real complaint, is the terrible pillows they offer. I felt like I was sleeping on paper. They look plump, but as soon as you lay your head down, they flatten so drastically that its as if you're resting your head directly on the mattress. Requesting more pillows didn't seem to help. Also, no fitted sheet on the bed, was confused by why they would just cover mattress with a sheet but didn't cause much of an issue so I wouldn't stress it.

Helpful but somewhat hapless service (took 4 calls to get coffee k-cups put in the room, there were none on arrival), and a truly awful breakfast (even allowing for necessary covid restrictions). Lovely building and friendly staff but not worth the price.

I have stayed here before and loved it. This time not so much. The fridge had the free water and they were both have gone. So the housekeeping never checked it. The bed spread was just a bunch of sheets filled in a duvet cover. The shower heads didn’t work well. The windows, mirrors were dirty. The divider between the tub and bedroom was broken. The hairdryer was broken. Just not what I expected for $306

Room could have been cleaner. Carpets looked like they hadn’t been swept. Wooden blinds for bathroom were loose from the wall. There was a rogue black hair in the tub apon arrival.

Beautiful, clean hotel! Delicious food! Rooftop bar was amazing!
