Mikinaak Cottage & Cabin Rentals

First time to visit Tobermory . We stayed at the Mikanaak cottage ( Mad Trapper) . Checking in and out was a breeze. Mike (owner) is easy to talk to and handle issues efficiently . Place is close to main town. Few minutes walk only. It’s a plus bec they charge for parking in town. I would definitely recommend this place.

Easy walking access to the main attractions of Tobermory, but slightly away from the main bustle. Right beside Tacomory. Good location.

First - the check-in process was very easy and very friendly. Overall I would stay here again. However, there was a few cleanliness issues, towels are folded and left wet, the fridge leaked (which was brought up to the owner’s attention). The shower curtain rods and bathroom mirror were rusty. I don’t overly agree with the price we paid because of the aforementioned issues.

We stayed in Mad Trappers cabin behind the main cottage, right on Hwy 6, 4 minutes drive from Tobermory harbour. Very cute cabin, clean and spacious enough. Nice owners.

Mike is an amazing host. The propery is close to almost all tourist destinations in Tobermory.

Great location right near Tobermory. Was able to use the BBQ and the outdoor fire pit which made the stay even better. Very clean cottage.

We loved everything about this place, the host was also very friendly and hilarious. Will recommend to everyone and will be definitely be back for longer stay ))

Room looks good in photos listed for room and looked okay upon first entering room. Upon closer inspection, shower head looked like something out of a horror movie and box strings were old and stained. Dirt under mattress made it clear that no through cleaning of rooms is done. As i once ended up with scabies from a room that looked like that, there was no way I could sleep in that bed. We left and found accomodations with friends several hours away.

So there is NO internet in this cabin as advertised and this is not a studio The internet is outside in the parking area. When I mentioned this to the owner he just said "yea . Crazy eh?" There is also no radio, no TV , no glasses (not even paper cups), no kleenex. And while there is a coffee maker and tea kettle -bring your mug and coffee fixin's. Only water is supplied. The bed was comfy and the water pressure was very good but if you want anything else (like a glass? or internet or radio) this is not the place for you. The vivacious owner is aware of the deficits but there is no competition and everything in town is always booked months and months ahead. Just not very good value for the price.

Stayed in the Mad Trapper. Clean and welcoming, not even a 5 minute walk into town. Upon check in we were told recommendations of where to eat and the must-sees in Tobermory. Would definitely return!
