Sea View Beach Resort

Old tired hotel probably OK for back packers but they can get similar for much less money. Room was dark even with all lights on - low watt bulbs. Air-con unit would not go under 24C and was less than efficient with grills open to the outside both front and back of the room which no doubt let the mosquitos in which ate me alive. The bathroom smelt of vomit and was basic beyond belief with no hot water - just the temperature the cold had reached in the pipes outside. There were wires poking through the walls just loosely taped up; a health and safety nightmare. Booked for 6 nights stayed 1 and transferred to another hotel.

We had a lovely stay, the hotel I right next to the beach. All the rooms have a big balcony which is really nice in the morning. The people who run this place is really nice and helpful. However the hotel is not in the best condition, but it’s fine, and everything is working.

If you want to stay in Unawatuna, this is a great option. I stayed there 3 nights and had a lovely time. The bed was comfortable and the mosquito net a great addition, though I didn’t see many mosquitos around. The balcony was lovely and spacious with different seating options. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast delicious. The location is at the end of the stretch of beach where it is more sheltered from the waves so it is great for people who are not overly comfortable in the water. Overall, I enjoyed myself and would stay there again

Had a lovely stay at the Sea View. The staff was very kind and attentive, the room was quite spacious and the breakfast was very good. The rooms are across the path from the beach with the restaurant right on the water. I found the beach chairs to be a bit uncomfortable and there is a large hotel going up nearby but the sound of the fan in the room drowned out any construction :) The manager went out of his way to make for a very pleasant experience.
