The hotel is really small compare to other hotels in Dubai. Great location in the middle of the palm. We were disappointed by the size and the layout of the beach which is very poor compare to the SOFITEL next door. Room was nice and size was ok

Beautiful hotel and amazing service. As it is new, there are still a few creases to iron out, for example the only free water available is in the gym and they charge for water or any other drink at the dinner buffet. However, overall a great relaxing stay!

Overall the Retreat was a great hotel, from the moment we arrived we were treated so well by the staff. We arrived quite early and the reception team had managed to get us in our room within 90 minutes of arriving, which we were very grateful for after an overnight flight. The hotel provided a free shuttle once a day to the Mall of the Emirates which is a great place to pick up the main metro line so was a good base to start each day. The pool and outdoors areas were stunning, and we loved how, as a smaller hotel, the pool area never felt overwhelmed with people, the staff were so attentive and the option to move down to the private beach was always easy and a nice way to end an evening. The beach games and sports options were always available and a good alternative to just lazing in the sun. Our room was great, with stunning views over the palm, there were two bottles of water provided daily which was perfect starting out the day. We did notice that each day there seemed to only be a light clean of the rooms and certain areas seemed to get missed daily, we also seem to have some small bugs in our bathroom which were mainly around the bath, so we didn't end up using it. The only bad experience we had was that our room door opened out onto a balcony which looked down to reception and on our last night the cleaning team were buffing the reception floor sta midnight which disrupted our sleep for a good hour until it stopped.
