HOTEL FAMITIC NIKKO

First time staying in a capsule hotel and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The bedroom, toilets and bathrooms are very cleaned with sufficient amenities. The Japanese Onsen bath is an added bonus. The upper row bed provides extra space which is great if you have suitcase. The only negative is the pillow.

Good location, close to train station, on bus line, able to walk to temple.

No room to walk around the room if you have your luggage open. Bathroom is newly renovated (for the twin room). Shared bath on level 1 is very tiny (can only fit 1-2 person at a time) but clean. Nice location - 5minutes walk from Tobu Nikko train station

It’s about a 10minute walk from the train station. Stayed in a twin room (2 adults and 1 young child) and it really was quite a squash and a squeeze with barely enough room to walk once you have the suitcases on the floor. Bathroom is clean and newly renovated. Bed was decent. Only thing I didn’t like so much was that at check in, they wanted to collect another 1000yen from us for my child staying with us eventhough on the internet, they clearly wrote child under 5 year old is free. I had to point this out to them. Breakfast is not worth paying extra for in my opinion.

Very small room with futon, as expected but still considered as pricey; but that's how Nikko is - a highly touristic place. What caught me by surprise was the breakfast! It was so, so good - a combination of Japanese with a bit of western dishes. The spread was extensive, food was very tasty and the cost was just ¥500 - what more with the kind of hotel.

Nice & welcoming stay

This spanking new hotel is impeccably clean. The staff are incredibly polite and the location is an easy 5 minutes from the train station. Couldn't have been better.

Convieniently located, a short and pleasant walk from Tobu or Nikko stations, with very good restaurants nearby (on either side, and across street). Also a well stocked chain convenience store across the street. The service was excellent, both front desk and housekeeping. Everyone very nice, and with enough English at front desk, backed by sincere intention, to make us very confortable and happy. They even loaned us umbrellas on a rainy day. Excellent hospitality. Seems a relatively new building with good elevator, and contemporary plumbing. Has free separate men and women's soaking baths (clean and soothing). Yukata and slippers provided. NOTE: No tattoos permitted (normal cultural expectation). Our room was on 4th floor with balcony overlooking street (where my wife could smoke, ash tray provided) with lovely views of surrounding hills. Twin beds, clean, cozy, and quiet. TV with Japanese channels. Not the Ritz, but quite functional, and good value. Buffet breakfast for 500¥, with good variety, much veg, but also egg and meat. Many items changed daily. Very happy overall. Met or exceeded our expectations.

Small hotel but nice (small) rooms. Clean and Quiet. A few free parking spaces in front. A bit of an uphill walk to the Shrine, but we found free parking about halfway there - the hotel has a map showing a lot of useful info. Nice supermarket "Lion d'Or" a short walk away - great for self-catering.

Small room, even completed to other Japanese hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nikko is a small town so English is not spoken as much as bigger cities in Japan.
