We had a lovely 5 night stay here. We told them we were celebrating a birthday before our arrival and they had our room decorated to celebrate! The owner greeted us on our arrival. You are right in between Tulum city and the beach zone so you can enjoy both. Yes, it is a developing and mostly residential area so there is construction. Yes, it is next to where the hard working locals live who serve you on your vacation. We had great service, hot water, a/c, WiFi and felt safe. You get access to their beach club with free parking and no minimum as it’s a 15 minute drive without beach traffic. You will need to rent a car, hire taxis or bike to get to other destinations. If you plan on going mostly to beach clubs & restaurants in the tulum beach hotel zone then I recommend to stay in that area. If you want a quiet reprieve for a good value with amenities then stay at Alma de Flores.
This was not a great experience. My advice is not to stay here. You dont know what you will get. The hotel did a bait and switch on me. One hotel rep said if i went to the smaller room for one night. They would upgrade me to a room with a private pool the next night for no additional cost. The smaller room I was changed to had a few things wrong but the rep said dont worry once the other room is available in the morning we will change you. After they changed me they tried to change me more. I explained that not what i was told and why would i down grade to a smaller room for no reason. I was told i could talk to the owner and that never happen. The next day when i went to checkout the rep at the front desk wouldnt give me a copy of my hotel agreement, receipt, or a copy of the deposit i left when i checked in. I was told when i checked out i couldnt event get a copy of any of the paperwork to show that i perpaid for the room and the cost or anything. Very bad business practices by the hotel and owner who lives on property. I was also told the hotel had bikes on property for a rental fee, but there were no bikes at all. I think they had a deal with the cab drivers to make more money off the people staying there. They had stung me along all day having me come back to the hotel telling the bike was on its way each time spending more money on cabs final i was told around 3pm that the bike wasnt coming and no one could tell me why. My advice DON'T STAY HERE!
I was in love with the Pool suite. Everything was perfect except the Ice Machine not working, and the rooms not being staffed with Microwaves. There was a cat on property that I loved. The pool was cleaned every morning. The view was PERFECT. I’d definitely come back here.
The private pool with the suite was awesome, other than that its not where you want to stay. Far from the beach, restaurants, any attractions.
The property is clean & the staff is friendly, but the maintenance guy was spraying plants in the morning while we were trying to relax on patio. The machine was loud & the smell from the fuel & oil was nauseating! Disappointed that they were charging $2 for teaspoon of instant coffee on mini bar & no creamer. Complimentary coffee is usually pretty standard at hotels trying to give an upscale image. Restaurant closed due to low volume of customers. Food at sister restaurant was very good but quite a distance when traffic is bad.
This place was awesome to stay at. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time here. Cute little hotel away from the busy streets of tulum. The staff were super nice and welcoming. The beach club (Alma tulum) was awesome and free for us because we were staying here. The beach club also has free parking which is hard to find down by the beach. Our room was so cute, spacious, clean, everything you would need. Their breakfast is bomb, tasty and good. It’s honestly such a good hotel to stay at.
Breakfast was excellent, beds very comfortably and good location. It’s about 15 min walk into town Tulum via a shortcut. ( ask hotel ). Took us 1 1/2 hours walking to their sister hotel alma beach resort. Long walk but nice. Nice sun lounges and parasols and beautiful beach. You can also take collective bus or rent bikes. Would stay here again. Hotel should consider a shuttle service for hotel guests or better deals on bike rental.
This relatively new hotel is in town but it’s sister hotel, Alma Tulum, is right on the beach so you get the best of both worlds. Drive from one to the other was only 15 minutes. Parking at both places was simple and free. Tulum is a much more authentic experience. No high rise hotels. Food was great and very reasonable. Beach and water exceptional. Yes, you have locals trying to sell their crafts, but they are not pushy at all. Cenotes and ruins very close and not the overpopulated ones visited by people staying in Cancun or Playa Del Carmen. The only thing that bothered me about the hotel was the dogs barking all night.. the noise didn’t bother me but my concern for the pups did.. I felt completely safe and had traveled there by myself. Carlos and the staff at the beach club were fantastic and the staff at the hotel in town was very helpful and accommodating. Bug spray bug spray bug spray... I can’t say it enough. The mosquitoes are not a problem at all on the beach because of breeze but in town they are tough. I would definitely recommend the two properties.
My family and I really enjoyed staying at Alma de Flores, the staff was so attentive and helpful and the cook Carlitos made the best breakfast and did everything to make sure you were happy which was very much appreciated, especially with little ones. We also visited their sister hotel which was located on the beach and the service there was also outstanding, our server Manuel was very attentive and kept the drinks coming. The whole staff was wonderful and when I go back to Tulum I will definitely be staying at Alma de Flores.
Amazing location. The staff are very friendly! Will definitely stay there again!
