stuffy rooms, didn't have a room with two beds, hammam didn't work

Excellent boutique hotel in le Marais

The location is in the heart of the Marais which is very convenient and close to the seine river and the Louvre. The street was not the best because they are doing extensive construction on one of the buildings and there is scaffolding and equipment everywhere. However, the Charles V hotel is very nice. Our room was very clean and updated and the bed was comfortable however the room was small. There was barely any room to move around inside. I guess that is to be expected in the heart of Paris. The staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

The room was spacious and luxurious, but we had trouble with the heat and the bathroom. We had difficulty sleeping because we could not sufficiently reduce the heat. We ended up sleeping without the duvet, which is all there was. No top sheet or other blanket. The shower was broken. There was a missing hose feature. The button to adjust the shower temperature wasn’t working resulting in our jumping in and out of the shower to avoid being scalded. The above being said, we enjoyed the location, the size of the room, and the staff were friendly and informative. I really wanted to like this hotel, but we were uncomfortable.

Rooms are tiny but comfortable, very clean. Area is great!
